Street Racing

There used to be a time when every night I would go out and street race or just plain old do dumb ****. Truth is I used to think that there can be safe street races. Fact is that something can go wrong at any moment on the street, your fault or not, either way your screwed. I have learned the hard way with tickets and a wrecked maxima but damm was it fun. The **** I have done, I bet most people have never tried once. I am thankful I am still alive after thinking back to all the stupid ****. Its scary that with age you start thinking about the really stupid **** that should not have been done and yeah there are still times I want to squeze in somewhere or use the break-down lane but now I think before I act. If you ask any of my freinds if my driving stlye has calmed down and they will say now I am a puss compared to the old me. So I am just writing to all of you to think about your actions. All it takes now a days to get screwed by the police is one ****-up. I am now on the moderators side about racing. It's strange how differant things are from age 16 to 21. I have grown up alittle
I am done venting

atleast you've changed. the sad thing is that usually its too late before teens and some "grownups" realize how their driving can be so dangerous. it takes the loss of a life before they actually make sense of it.

it took a 3rd gen for me to learn, but I believe it was the best way (aside from learning like you guys did, and getting lucky not to push it too far). I believe if I didnt loose my 3rd gen when I did, later on down the road, someone would have lost their life, and it could have been me. Speed is fun, living is more fun.

Enjoy and be safe all.

try being 31 and having 2 beautiful little girls...that will straighten you out. Thats why I am not that interested in turbos or nitrous...I have been there and done that besides anything less than mid to low 11s is no fun anyway

discussion of street racing will not be tolorated!

Funny things r changed when the time goes by , Before when I always do stupid things and never worn the belt. Now I m having one of bad habit to wear the belt all the time. Its a good sign to wear belt on all the time for safety. Like the commerical say , Buckle up or get ticket.

it took a ticket for me to mature...i used to think i could change inconsiderate drivers by "teaching them a lesson" with my "superior automobile" (at the time an E30 coupe 5speed)..got radared doing double, but a few seconds earlier i was doing well over that (approx 90-95 in a 40, then it changed to a 30 and i was slowing down..cop caught me at "57" when my speedo indicated almost 70). now i just learn to deal with it and pull all sorts of rally race type moves out of my @$$ when someone threatens the well being of myself/friends/car (not driving like an idiot, but being very aggressively defensive..thats right, oxymoron)
good observation skills are key, and dont get a big ego. i do get those moments where i have to go fast..and i do..and i know i should stop, but they're becoming few and far between..i hope that says something.
click it or ticket!

what is this...a reminiscing thread?? really happy everyone is slowing down and being pretty considerate to others on the road. I've been ticket free for approximately 485 days and wreck free since the day I first touched a steering wheel over 5 years ago (*knocks on wood and prays to God*). I am not a slow driver. Just defensive.
