how hard is it to replace auto tranny?
#2
Replace with another auto? Or swap in a 5 speed?
Autotranny should be 7 hours to weekend job depending on your skill, patience and fortitude.
Swapping in a 5 speed is way more complex. Not undoable, but not easy either. Besides the tranny you'll need things like pedal assembly, linkages, hydraulics including lines, flywheel and possibly the ECU since the Auto and Manual ECU's have different part numbers. You might even need axles.
Probably best to have a a front cut Max donor sitting next to your project car as you work. Take lots of pictures as you disassemble teh donor.
