Fold rear seatback...

Could someone please tell me what year and/or country, and/or model came with the folding rear seat? I saw pics of an Aussie max that shows it has this feature, and I too would like to add this. BTW, I'm driving a Canadian 1990 SE at the moment...if that matters to anyone.
BTW..., I've already checked a GXE at the wreckers, and it's rear seat didn't fold...

they don't.. you have to make it do that. get a little creative with the mounting points and it's easy.

Well...., that's what I was planning on doing, but I figured if it already existed I would look into it - possibly make it easier, and safer as well.
To be honest....., I think I'm going to replace my front seats with power heated units, then move the original buckets to the rear. That way they'll fold. Will have to take some measurements first to see if this is possible (just a concept at the moment...).

The New Zealand new GXE's have them! See edzmaxx's site for pics:

US / Canadian Maxima's don't have folding rear seats. New Zealand & Australian Max's do as they are the Japanese version, assembled locally. Check that behind your backseat their isn't a cross brace - it's there for strength. Our locally assembled Max's had extra bracing around the frame area for the seats to fold down.
You could probably buy a folding rear seat over the internet from NZ / Aussie wreckers.

Other differences - our corner lights don't have side markers that work - the clear lens is their but no wiring, hole for bulb holder & behind the lens is silver foil; don't have fog light wiring, relay or lights; the keyless entry control modules were locally made and only operates on the driver's door (no "factory" alarm module either - CodeAlarm fitted instead); airbags were not an option in NZ.

Thanks guys! chchmax - that was the exact site I first saw the pics on (just didn't bookmark it)! So it looks like I'll be checking prices on the net and e-bay too. Thanks again.
