Indigo Pedal Installation Help
Indigo Pedal Installation Help
Hi all,
Im new to this forum and new to my maxima. I just bought a 94 charcoal GLE and I want to mod it out a bit. Unfortunately im not good with electronics. I bought the Indiglo pedals and they come with a black ground wire and a red wire. I don't know where to place these wires in order for the pedals to work. I don't know where the correct wires are located for me to wire the pedals into. I have the stock Bose cd player/cassette combo if that makes any difference. Thanks for your help.

hey Maximum94GXE if you have the peddles i hope you can return them i got blue ones and ok there not bad for the first week but theres no real use for them. also im my casue failed inspection for them to. but i got mine from my friend so didnt waste no money on them thank god but just for your fun the way i did it was i got a add a fuse not to sure if thats the name but basically its a thing you get from autozone that makes you able to use one of your fuse slots for something else like the fuse for your cigi lighter and use it to light up your pedals and just ground it out by wrapping it around a screw i also did this for my cb radio

to insatll those pedals you can just hook them up the your dash lighting..easier way is to hook them up to that bulb that lights up around your cig lighter look for the red and white and the blk wires..just strip those and hook the pedals up to those and tape it with an eletrical tape.

As long as it's a tight connection, then you're okay. Simply "wrapping it around a screw" without crimping it down or some sort of FIRM connection is asking for it to get pulled loose can cause sparking. not a good thing, especially on a ground cable. anything it touches in the car's frame (anything metal of course), the cable will spark against, since it's still connected to the +12V of the battery on the other end of the device. not good. don't do it. good tight connections only. use a spade lug or SOMETHING, but don't just wrap it around a wire.

Yeah.... I want to know THIS one, too! If your car failed inspection because of indigo pedals, your inspection station must either be very incompetent or very high! If that's the case, you car would fail just because of simple stuff like having an aftermarket radio... or that big @$$ nub mounted behind the steering wheel!

thats what am saying...am waiting for his reply because i really want to know...
Hmmmm, maybe it was wired all loose and could have been a hazard to the driver (making it possible to be tangled and unable to brake...or fire hazard)........or maybe it was just a "mercy violation" , helping the rest of us.
