Roughness / shaking at different times...

I was experiencing some sort of shaking at times from the car during idle and sometimes when it was running (though less noticable during the times it was running). After I had my spark plugs, wires, & distributor replaced along with the fuel filter about 3 weeks back, the problem still remains. I'm about to change out the PCV Valve once I get a chance and I'll also look to fixing the timing if there is anything off with that.

Any ideas on where the problem might lie and if the 2 additional items still to be done might be the cure? I'll be doing both when I have the time, but if there are other areas I should also look into, I rather do it all in one shot.

Sounds like when my injectors went.... You also notice a loss in power, and really poor fuel economy?

The power I'm not too sure on, but I've always experienced poor fuel economy (~12mpg city / 14-17 highway). It's usually city driving, so I'm guessing it's those prolong effects that carry over to the highway mileage... that and maybe the "occasional" lead foot :d.

Is there any way I can check if it's indeed the injectors at fault? I believe I've read on a few threads that replacing them is costly and some say a bit time consuming for someone unfamiliar with such a process. The fuel economy has remained the same ever since I got the car about 1.5 years ago and the vibrating / shaking only started around Feb-March 2003. Not sure if that fact can knock out the injectors being a cause.

injectors. you can check with the ohm meter and see if the resistance is around 12.8 for a good injector. i checked mines at the mechanic and the suspect cylinder that i new was bad, read at 0 volts, meaning the fuel injector was dead, and hense why i am getting shiittygas mileage and boggyness, also the putt putt putt i have been getting. If you have never did the water pump, timing belt then you must upgrade it as soon as possible. that is a very expensive reapir if your belt broke, basically bye bye engine. do everything, also check your O2 sensor, usually a bad sensor will make the ecu retard the fuel, and either run rich or lean, usually lean.
