There's a couple of things I'd look at, if I were you:

You might wanna try to spray or "drip" some silicone-based solvent into the lock cylinder just to see if you can free up the tumblers in the lock mechanism.
Crack open your door (and if you have to ask HOW, you're gettin' the "beat-down") and visually inspect the entire locking mechanism, to include the linkages for any bent or damaged sections, as well as the locking mechanism. This would be a good opportunity to just take the lock and soak it in some kind of solvent.
There is a small control unit under/behind the radio which manages the electrical locking system. I had this problem some time ago and got excellent response from this list - at least, I think it was THIS list.
I took the thing out, popped off the cover, resoldered all the connections and it has worked fine ever since.
Taking all the trim off was a pain, but the fix was easy if you can safely wield an electric soldering iron.
Of course - this assumes you have electric door locking!

I started having this problem too on my '89 Maxima. The doors wont lock from the outside, when locked from the inside it would sometimes unlock itself upon closing the door (weird ghost sheit). So when this all happens I found a solution (not a permament fix):

Lock from the inside using a central lock button. When closing the driver door, hold the door handle up (as if you were opening it), close the door tightly and release the handle. This way the locks wont unlock themselves.
