I would like to get working pwr dr locks. Here are the symptoms. Used to work intermittently, now it does not work at all. I can hear a click from under the dashboard. It appears to come from a silver box. What is the most likely cause of the problem? About how much will it cost to fix? Is it something that I can fix myself?

Door lock timer..

find the little box that's clicking down there, remove it.. resolder all the connections and replace it.. it SHOULD work fine after that. if not, call up kaleb @ courtesy nissan and tell him you want another one. he'll know what it is. this is a common problem (you're the 4rd or 4th person this week that's mentioned it) in 3rd gen maxes..

if you want more detailed info on the process, go to http://www.kalebonline.com and look around in there. His page will say to replace it, but I just resoldered the connections in mine and it's worked flawlessly for the last 8-10 months.
