Spring suggestions

Alright fellas, I'm thinking about getting springs for my Max, so I can take care of the 4x4 look. But I need some opinions. I've tried using the search feature for about the last 2 hours, but the server times out everytime. Anyway'z, which springs are the best to go with to maintain ride quality. I see the Eibach springs go for around $210 and they give you a 1.4" drop while the sprint springs go for about $145 with a 1.8" drop. Which do you suggest or are there better ones??? Thanks

I've heard that if you just want to drop the Max without getting a harsher ride, then Intrax is the way to go. My old Max had suspension techniques springs, which had a good drop and slight increase in stiffness. I just picked up a set of eibachs for $100 shipped on Ebay so I'll let you know about them once they go on my car next week.

I have the Eibach Pro kit springs and Tokico shocks set up. The ride quality is fair but the handling is incredible, especially for the size and weight of the maxima!

That sounds like a great deal, I guess I'll check out ebay and see what I can find. My only problem is that I don't know how much of a drop I can handle, because my driveway has a slanted curb that I have to drive over to get in the garage. Just like all the other houses on my block. You know what I'm talking about???

my friend has sprint and they look great...he says it rides only a little harder than stock.

those are coilovers. None are made for our cars. We could have had a chance, but not enough people stepped up to the plate on them

oh ok..because i was in md talking to this guy who has a 4th gen and he has them on his...but they wont fit the 3rd gens then huh...i would love those...

This is a stupid question, but can you use the stock shocks with lowering springs?

yeah but they will wear out quicker. Best bet is Koni for all springs or KYB Tokicos for moderate drops...not recomended for intrax or Sprint for a long period of time.

i have arospeeds with a 1.75" drop. the handling is fair but the ride is a bit rougher than stock.

I have eibachs/konis (set to 3/5 stiffness). The ride is really not a whole lot worse than stock. If you get a good quality strut to go with your springs, the improvement in control should outweigh the deterioration in ride quality. When I go over bumps or rough pavement, it is a little more harsh, but at least I dont bounce all over the place. I consider it a great improvement all around.

If I wanted to go lower than the eibachs, I would have gone with intrax for its aggressive, consistent drop.
