TODAY I DRAINED MY TRANNY FLUID IN MY1991NISSAN GXE. I USED ABOUT 3 QUARTS OF MOBIL 1 SYNTHEIC ATF. I JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT AT 6 BUCKS A QUART IT IS SURE WORTH IT. IT MAKES THE SHIFTING ON THE CAR SMOOTHER. PLUS U GET THE BENIFITS OF ADDED PROTEECTION IN YOUR TRANNY. TRY IT OUT.

There is no problem mixing the two tranny fluids, but I would suggest flushing all the old fluid. This is easily done by:
Disconnecting the return line from the cooler to the transmission.
Run the car, in park till about 2 quarts are pumped out.
Shut off the car and put in 2 fresh quarts of fluid.
Repeat the two prior steps until fresh fluid starts pumping out.
There is very little mixing of the old and new fluid. Don't worry about the fluid level going low for a few seconds, because the transmission isn't doing any work.
I'll be switching to the Mobil 1 this spring when I put in a tranny cooler.

dont put it in your se

Putting this into your 4a trans is bad!Now nissan doesnt really recomend anything but there own, But they will tell you to not put this in your se maxima or it will be devistateing! Last year i put mobile 1 in my trans and she did not like it at all! when asking nissan about the synthetic atf in the SE dohc max with the 4a trans they told me that its the worst for it but Im almost possative he said its fine for the 2a also my baby didnt like the bosch plugs either, she likes the spit fires but be very carefull, i only use these in the winter when i only drive about 400 miles all winter, i dont give them a chance to get hot, when hot detonation and pre ignition is almost guarenteed unless running nitrous(so ive been told)these I personally wouldnt recomend they are a very hot plug for our already hot ignition system on the d engine. happy tunning
