Does anyone know how to remove the green sleeve (plastic or rubber) from inside the gauges in the dash? I have been told that in order to change the lights to a different color in the gauges, I have to get that sleeve out.

they're very small- simply slide over the small bulbs inside the gauge cluster.

jsut replace the bulbs and you won't have to worry about that.

the other problem you'll run into are the gauges themselves have a slight green tint in the plastic where the numbers shine through. you can still change them to blue or red, but there will still be a slight hint of green no matter what you do.

That was actually what I was talking about. Matt, so you're saying you can't actually change that tint in the gauges? Have you attempted this? I wanted to replace the bulbs with 194 hyperwhites Xenon by Eurolite.

No, I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard that people that have tried it. the white bulbs will make things a little brighter and less green, but they'll sitll have a green shade to them.

I repaced my bulbs with blue bulbs and there is no green tint what so ever. The gauges look perfectly blue. I guess maybe they all dont have the green tint.

hey chris what type of blue lights did you put behind there? Just regular blue 194's or like that zenon stuff. Also if they were regular blues how bright is it through the dash, cause ive heard regualr blue ight behind are barely bright enough to see at night. Are yours blue like a VW passat? i love the guages of the passat.
