screw on the ecu

screw on the ecu

hey guys, what position should this screw be in, and what does it affect if adjusted? reason i am asking, is because i checked mine for the first time, and its all the way anticlockwise. Is this normal?
Sorry if this is a stupid question!

Yes, it's normal. Leave it alone unless you want to run a diagnostic procedure. Get a Nissan factory service manual off eBay if you want to mess with it.

If you turn your ignition to "ON" (don't start motor), turn the screw all the way clockwise, wait 2 seconds, then turn all the way CCW... it will flash a code at you. That red LED will start to blink. If it flashes 5 long and 5 short, then that's code 55 and that means everything is working like it should. I'm not going to list out all the codes, but maybe you can find them with a search. Oh yeah, the search is down. Go figure. Sorry.

thats cool, thanks for that aaron92se. The chiltons website has a section on error codes, just enter the code into there and it tells you the problem. Turned out i got a code 55 anyway. Car was real hot, and runing like crap, so i assumed knock sensor, thats why i wanted to check for an error code, but i guess it'll only pull a code if it craps out, not if its just being over sensitive...
