Hi,

I have a 93 Maxima SE and the deck will not work. The radio is getting power to it but NO FREAKING SOUND!!! I bought a 93 Bose deck without CD player hooked it up and still NO FREAKING SOUND!!! All the fuses look good. SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!

NEED THE RADIO BEFORE ROAD RAGE KICKS IN!!!

 

either the relay for the amps have gone out or all the amps are bad. I fixed a guys car that had all the amps go but he bought it like that. I would think if you have owned it you would notice one at a time going out SO I would say look for the relay that works the amps. I believe it is on the drivers side around the fuse box but am not sure on the exact location.

 

B = Better
O = Off
S = Supplanting
E = Electronics

In other words, forego the Bose system and install (or have one installed) an aftermarket setup.

 

Check the relay for the amps located behind the right side kick panel. Just swap it with another (same color - blue?) from the relay box under the hood and see if it works.

I called the dealership and they said there is no relay. They gave me this shops # and they told me the BOSE system is proprietary and everything needs to be replaced. They gave me a $500 estimate. The guy also said there is no relay, but I'm going to check anyways. If anyone has had this problem let me know the fix, please.

If you did end up blowing the amps, I have spare working ones I could sell you, cheap. That or they might make their way into the trash can. lol

 

If it's a BOSE system, there's a relay!

yeah, I have a mess of my bose (in the process of saving to put in all aftermarket) and two of the amps are blown and two of the speakers are blown (I think). Anyway, the ones with bad amps kind of squeal a little. I would think if you have NO sound at all, it's the relay. I still recommend just save yourself a headache and yank the bose.

 

Heres some good advice,
lose your bose system and get a aftermarket system u will be amazed at how much better it sounds. Bose systems in our gen. of maximas and 300zx's are prone to failure, don't get me wrong bose makes very good stuff for home audio but all there stuff for car audio justs falls short. ditch your bose system and get an aftermarket setup........you won't regret it...............
