Its hard to say which is the best as most maxima users probably have not tried all of these clutches. All may be good, it's going to be pretty hard to really pick the best. I have the act. It does make me kinda miss my oem clutch when I'm tired and have a headache and the last thing i want is hard shifts. But for sporty driving, its great, with some small chatter.

Izzy, if you can figure out which clutch to get by the two very obvious threads on this same page, this poll isn't gonna help. You yo-yo between decisions WAY too much. I'm glad you were able to help my local guy Mr. Gone though. hehe.

This goes el locko by today or tomorrow.

EITHER CLUTCH IS FINE from what I read. I've never driven an exedy but as soon as Shawn gets his in, I will. The ACT won't generade your tranny unless you drive on too hard, too much. But then again, you will probably either get way too many tickets or crash your ride before damaging the tranny(if you tranny is in good condition)

Or how about this? Drive 1/2 normal and get on it every once in awhile and not worry about it?? gah!

I dont know much about the LUK so I cant comment on it. I kinda feel bad for buying it now

I guess the best advice I can give you Izzy is go and drive Jason's car for alittle bit and see how you like the clutch. If you like it buy it, it you think you will be happier with more of an OEM feel get the LUK or Exedy, I believe they both have a stock feel with the release.

with 4th gens, the only reason they are having problems with ACT is because their 3rd gear doesnt seem to like the force the ACT can put on the tranny. It seems the only time they break is when they are driving hard and say redline it in 2nd then keep it in the redline area and "dump" the clutch and you get that jolt, that's why they are breaking.

Its simply the ACT grabbing harder/faster than their tranny likes.

I havent heard of an ACT related tranny failure for a VE yet.

(on a side note, the tranny that came with my car was blown to heck, and it had an OEM clutch, I'm not sure what could have caused the housing to crack/pop like it did, but I dont think it has to do with the clutch.

I havent been in an ACT or Exedy car yet, but I've done tons of research for the VQ, there isnt much to search threw on the VE, which isnt always a bad thing.

dont feel bad. its my thing for not doing research. just that you needed the clutch more than i do, and all my friends have act with no problem. side note, jay will never let me drive his max, since he got all that work done to it i think no one will drive her execpt diego .

I drove diego's maxima before, and all i can say it was hard starting in first. but heck even my stock oem clutch has a hard peddle myabe i'll luck out and get an exedy in the future. or there is always act for 310 shipped.

I drove Jason's car already and yes it will be very hard to get the keys away from him lol. There is a reason why you sold it Izzy, its because you have to get the ACT

Oh yeah today I didn't hang up, my phones at work suck and they cut off.

Get the ACT already.
