Question on 1991 Bose audio

I have a question about the Bose system in a 91 Maxima. I assume it is like the bose system in my 2002. That in runs on a 1 ohm system.
One of the rear speakers is blown and one of the front speakers is making a whistling sound. I would think it would be best to get a good after market radio and speakers, and run new speaker wires rather than mess with the Bose and use any of its system parts.Any ideas or sugestions would be helpful. Thanks.

you sure the speaker is blown or the amp. The amps go bad quite often and that is whats causing the front one to whistle. It is obviously better to go aftermarket if you have the money to upgrade. You can rebuild the amps if your good with electronics or I can do it for you.

for instructions on rebuilding search this site (actually the test site...the big red link at the top of the page)

trying to put new wire in would be a lot of work. the bose wires work fine with any after market stereo system.
