Climate control display

Hey Guys,
I've checked out posts and did searches about how to repair the digital display that flickers on the climate control display on my '90 GXE. The cold solder connections make sense; but the thought of removing the old solder with a "solder sucker" and resoldering a circuit board scares me. Quite frankly...I'd probably screw it up. I did a search and came across Mr. Whizard Technical services on the internet. They seem to speciallize in repairing displays and even list 3rd gen max's climate and clock display's. Their web site is www.mrwhizard.com, Ph: 888-803-8523. Based on a testimonial the cost to fix my climate control is about $100 and a 2-day turn around. Anyone had any experiences with these guys?

have you ever tried soldering? if you have a steady hand, i would reccomend doing it yourself. but its up to you.. you def dont want to ruin the unit either... a new one from nissan is mucho dinero.
