Hey my VG Auto hit 16.6 in the 1/4 - stock...hope to change hat soon when I get back from my Air Force Deployment. Come and check my Max out. The performance mods that I have listed were ordered while I have been in Saudia Arabia and are waiting on me to get home.....so when I get back " it's ON like Hot buttered Pop Corn"

well my max in comparison 1991 gxe with 160k+ took it to the track and i ran with a fstb, that is all, and i ran stock at 16.56 @81.772 stock.. either your not looking at revs and lauching at idle, or you max is really old of age

brake torque to 2500 and release, you'll gett a better launch

A stock VG auto should run 16.9 without advanced timing or anything. Your 60' tells me that you spun the tires off the line. You should have a 2.4 60' ATLEAST with your VG. That will give you about a 17.4. The rest of the time is probably b/c you don't have a perfect VG. You do have a very low trap speed, which means you are deprived of horsepower for some reason. Check the usual tune up stuff like plugs, all filters, and clean your TB.

The guys that run the 16.6s and stuff stock have a perfectly maintained VG. And maybe they have advanced timing and weight reduction.
