B & M transmission coolers are good I hear, but what size and specs should I go for, there are like 4 different types on carparts.com

how much do the B&M tranny coolers go for? i got a "hayden tranny cooler" for like $30 at autozone
if you ask me i cant see how the brands differ i mean the technology should be the same and its just a basic radiator to cool fluid. my 2 cents

Maxse91 is right.......

Hayden coolers are just as good and cost about $15 less(and plus Level Ten uses 'em on their 600HP rebuilds so thats gotta mean something!) anyways Autozone has 'em.......but if you still want the B&M from carparts you can definently fit the 16,000GMV version and the 19,000 GMV version might fit too, anything bigger than that might give you a hard time to fit! both brands have equal "performance" just with B&M of course you're paying for the name!

running a Earl's cooler...
and for the guys who think all coolers are the same...check out the fittings and the thickness of the cooler itself..hold that up next to the Hadyen and you'll see the difference.

it's cost more than the Hayden..but IMO it's built a lot better.

If you go to the web sites of the different cooler mfgs, you'll see that they are different. Hayden is a simple tube and fin design. The B&M is different (looks like the Earl's), and is supposed to be 30% more effecient. The B&M also has a way of bypassing the cooler section when the tranny fluid is cold.
When I put one on in the spring, it's going to be the small B&M. It costs around $42. You still get what you pay for.

yeah JEGS.COM is worth it

16 GVW is only 42.99 bucks

and B&M have a good reputation on racing transmission coolers..so it has to be good performance..in the long run..

Install Price?

Hey guys, this is my first post, as I am a new Maxima owner. I called AAMCO today to quote a price for the tranny cooler installation, and they told me it would be about $300 labor!! Now, looking at the other posts this seems a bit ridiculous. Are they just pulling my chain, or does the VE30DE engine really require that much work to access the tranny hoses. Also, although I am a newbie when it comes to engine work, I am an engineer so I am good at tinkering / modifying stuff. Would I need any special tools to install this myself? Thanks for any input.

They're BS'ing you!!!!!!!

The install seems to be pretty simple, but since I didn't do my own last summer, I don't know the basics. but my cooler was included in my last tranny rebuild and installed for $80. But $300 is RIDICULOUS, don't let them screw you over! wait for some of the others to reply, they did the install themselves and should know exactly how.
