That pic was kinda dark. Is the bar chrome? What color are the end circle pieces?

I love the red on the end of the Courtesy bar. Maybe I'll invest in some spray paint and save myself some money.

yo czar!

hey, do you have a better pic of your strut tower bar? i just got mine and it doesnt fit. i know there's some trouble with that tubing near the passenger side strut, but even with it moved out of the way it doesnt fit. the bar sits right on the spark plugs on mine, and from what i can tell your bar is in front of the spark plugs. i dont think bending the bar will help either. if you have a better pic that would be great. i dont know if i got the wrong one, or if obx changed their design or what.

I got some better pics for you, but I dunno your email (maxima.org don't display email addys amymore) so I can't get them in as attachments. Anyways make sure that the mounts have the bar towards the front of the car(probably obvious). I managed to get my bar on just fine w/o bending it, but it would just hit the intake manifold barely under some engine conditions. I DID end up bending the bar for about 1/4 inch more clearance accross the top of the engine. I did this by wrapping the bar in rags and bending it VERY slightly at the current bend locations. I used a hitch receiver mounted on a van to get the required leverage. DONT bend it too much; plan how much you will bend the bar and how far you need to get it to work w/o engine contact. As far as where it sits on the engine, mine sits about 1 inch in front of the ignition coils, and I put the wiring harness up in the air (instead of under the bar) right behind and leaning against the bar. I did move the hose slightly, but it wasn't much at all. The places I had trouble before I bent the bar was the throttle body and a grounding screw on the farthest to the pass side on the intake manifold. It would make contact with the bar and make a loud buzzing.

well, from the pic i can tell that we have totally different mounting plates, that may be a slight problem. the first time i had it lined up where the bar was towards the front of the car, and it didnt fit. so i tried it the other way and it didnt fit. it actually fit over the engine a little better cuz it didnt sit right on the ignition coils i dont think bending it would make a difference either cuz it would need a good 2-3 inches more bend in it, and bending it that much would probably ruin it. hhhm.....how long ago did you get yours? do you think obx maybe changed the design? i dont think i got the wrong one or else the mounting plates probably wouldnt fit.

i think the problem is in the mounting plates.....your plates seem to raise the bar higher than mine and also allow your bar to not sit directly on the spark plug thingys. cuz your bar is a good inch or so closer to the front of the car than mine.

yeah i got it from SW autoworks.....i've already e-mailed alex about it, we'll see what he says. this sucks!! i may end up having to make custom brackets on the mounting plates to raise the bar up or something like that.
