Raybestos Ceramic pads are the ones for me. Nice stopping power with minimal dusting. As for the rotors, I also have a set from Pep Boys that has served me well; however, most other members swear by OEM.

the brand type is pretty much up to you. Ordinary metal pads and oem rottors work just fine, for a stock car. As you upgrade performance you should upgrade the brakes in tandem. It doesnt matter how fast your car goes, if it cant stop. I got a set of axxis metal master pads on stock rotors, works great. I believe pepboys carries 2 types of pads, economy and "performance", you might as well just get the performance.

i understand that this is a safety maintenence so no cost should deter me from getting the best.... but how much would the ceramic pads cost? and oem? and the rotor?

I've had good experience with Raybestos quietstops and Axxis metalmasters.

With rotors, I would go with the Brembo blank rotors.

what he said. the dusting is noticebly less than stock pads. for a mainly stock setup, they would work just fine, and are a reasonable price.
