poor fuel economy
i've read that some of you guys get between 300-400 miles per tank. I get 23 miles to the gallon, i don't know how many miles per tank because most of the time the tank won't allow me to fill it up all the way. i keep my tires at the recomended pressure, new air filter, pcv valve, fuel filter, spark plugs and all new fluids. Maybe i drive differently, i usually cruise about 2500 rpms on city streets.

2500 on city streets?......Dang, in my VG, thats 75 to 80 mph in overdrive out on the highway. In the city, with OD 45mph is about 1400, OD off ~2000. I also get about 23mpg, but yours is a stick, and mine is an auto.
Try bumping 500 rpm {or whatever the next gear up is} off that city cruise rpm and see what happens......Dont see how it could hurt...
Just my $0.02
BTW. 23mpg x 18 gallon tank = 414 miles to the tank, OK in my book.....
Take Care, Jim

I would say that it is pretty good mileage, 23 has been my best, and i get 330 miles per tank on average if i am a good driver. If im not then i get about 280 if my agressiveness overtakes me...muhahaha

Best I ever did was 27 mpg or 500 on a tank. Mostly I'm around 400 or so but now the gas guage is getting a little less trusting so I'm filling around 360. I believe it was Matt93SE who said (last time or the time before this discussion came up) he got over 30 before. It's doable but you really need a good tail wind for it...
