Input on some noises I'm hearing

1) The first noise is a clicking sound I hear when I'm parking my car. I hear the noise when I'm turning left or the right while I'm stepping on the brake and turning the wheel to back in or out.

2) The last month I've heard a grinding noise coming from the rear passenger side. As of the last week I've been hearing squeaky noises from the rear passenger side while I'm driving. The squeaky noises sound like mice. The noises sound like they're coming from the back tire on the passenger side. When I hear the squeaky noises it sounds like my wheel is loose and about to fall off. I checked to see if the lugs where loose and they're not. What could it be? After I parked my car today I got behind it and rocked it back and forth a bit to see if I could hear the noises but I got nothing. I got under the car and looked to see if anything was broken and tugged on a few things to see if some was loose but I got nothing.

I know this is long but any help would be appreciated. I'm probably going to take it to a shop tomorrow to have the rear suspension checked out to see if they can find out what's causing sound #2.

Update. Today I left the car running and took a listen and the squeaky noise was coming from the muffler. So I moved the muffler to the right with my foot and the squeaky noise stopped. I also hear a grrr/grinding noise from that area when I'm driving. And now when I stop at a red light and then accelerate the car drags and I hear the grinding noise coming from the back. This happens sometimes.

Sounds like its time for a new muffler, right?

I've searched ebay and they have some decent priced ones but most of them are those big *** super rice leaf blower style mufflers.

I just had my brother back the car up and then move it forward while I listened to the grr and squeaky noises. The noises were definitely coming from the muffler. They were squeaky noises with crack/grr noises in between. I listened to the wheels and the noises without a doubt were from the muffler. The muffler's probably as old as the car so maybe it's dying or something. I don't know, do mufflers die?

And does anyone know the length of the stock muffler?

yea, the muffler on mine does the squeeky rattle also. Look at the top of it and you will see its all rusted and the outer layers are touching the heat shield above it. I'm just going to wait for it to blow a hole, then replace it. Just make sure all the rubber hanger's are there (6 alltogether) and wait for it to need replacement in the dead of next winter.

Can you hear the noise while you're driving? Like if you turned off the radio and listened closely?

As far as the $$ goes I'm gonna be able to replace it now so I might as well.

i was leaning towards possible the wheel bearings in the rear, but since you have said it is the muffler then yea it could be the heat shield that resides right above the muffler that is rusting and touching the muffler. I know i had a similar prob with my moms honda those cars have a anti-vibration/rattle device inline or close to the muffler to prevent that noise you are hearing, but I dont think nissan uses them!!!

Yeah I thought it was the wheels too but all the noises were coming from the muffler.
