Carrier Bearing on a 91GLE

Just got this car for nothing but it has a really noisy carrier bearing. The guy at the dealer looked at me cross eyed. Guess it hit the curb really hard. Called the dealer and they said the bearing isn't listed seperately. Anyone have any luck replacing this bearing? Or what bearing # it may be so i can go to a bearing shop. It looks to come out. Thanks guys.

not in the tranny

i'm talking about the bearing in the carrier housing between the passenger CV shaft and the solid shaft which goes into the tranny. Its an auto but i dont think that matters

oh i know what you mean now but i dont no then you might have to replace the whole mount that holds tha axle in place but you might be able to press the bearing out and take it to a bearing place to get another one but i would ploboly just go to the junk yard and get one because ive never heard of them going out

I'd just go ahead and change the right side axle with a remanufactured one - about $70.

The bearing comes with the axle, which has to be removed and disassembled in order to replace the center bearing. Not worth the trouble.
