Since the 2001 Frontier has the VG33ER engine, would it's supercharger be compatible with our VG30E?

supercharger

Who are you gonna get to let you tare the supercharger out of their new truck? Even with the supercharger those fronters are slow. I think people will basically just buy it cuz they like to say their truck is "supercharged" even tho a non-supercharged truck could still smoke it no problem with its high 0-60 (i think 9 something)

Frontier S/C......

Who said you had to have one out of a Frontier? You could buy it new from Courtesy with your 25% discount. Slow? A frontier weighs 3900 lbs. Imagine how slow your max would be with that much weight. Also the S/C'd frontier will put out quite a bit more than most max's. But for more money I'd rather do the VG-T swap and have more flexibility to upgrades. Still, the Frontier's SC would be a nice addition of around 40 horses.

The only problem is... the VG33SC will probably be one of those superchargers that sits on top of the manifold, not one like the Stillen Maxima supercharger. If that's the case, it will take major work and $$$ to make it fit. If it's not that type, we'll have to see. Once one comes in, I'll definately take a look at it and let y'all know.

brett...

you seem to miss the point. Wheter it is heavy or not (which I knew it was, especially for a small truck)slow is slow. 210 hp is still far greater than my 160 but that doesn't make it faster... If you dropped that engine in a lincoln navigator, you'd still call it slow right, even if it was supercharged! (hell I dont know if it'd move) My point is that making it supercharged didn't make it have good performance, it would have been better to make a 210 V6 THEN supercharge...Now that'd be nice!

Re: brett...

W/ trucks/suvs, it's not about the hp, it's about the torque. (read pulling power for boats, loads etc...)

So it may only have 210hp but what is the torque rating??

Trucks often have much larger torque ratings than hp

Now would the engine in the Maixma make it faster?? Maybe but it would not have a good high end power and probably run out of breath fast. Not really what you want for a "sports sedan". Would probably require some different cams and maybe some intake tract/exhaust mods to make it breath better up high.

VG-T, not VGSC

I just said it might fit on our engine! Besides for the gains/performance I'd much rather have a VGT under the hood. But who the heck would do that when you could put a VGT in?? Ofcourse the Frontier SC truck will have much lower hp than torque (nearly all trucks do for pulling power). And finally 6-8 psi is pretty weak considering some VGT Z's run 15 psi. A T3/T4 hybrid, IC, custom piping from headers, custom downpipe, 3" exh., boost controller, upgraded fuel system (300ZTT), and the rest is history!!!! Now I just need the funding.

You call that an engine? Pfft.. VE block, TTZ internals, 440cc injectors, TTZ ECU/cams, DSP Racing custom T4 turbo, Stillen N/A Z headers with custom equal length cross over, 3" downpipe with a monster IC. Thats how its done, punk.. =) Did I tell you your rear rims are on the wrong sides too Bret? LOL

Yea....the SC is a eaton/roots style.....

It sits right over the intake manifold. Unlike the vortec/stillen style the Frontier SC needed a higher hood so the new nissan SC Will NOT fit an older frontier. It probably could fit on our vg30 if we mathced the intake ports, used new plumbing, and made a hood scoop/extra room.

Try
Climax Racing at 818-882-6691. They might be able to do a custom kit for
you.

I haven't called to see pricing but that's give them a call if you want a S/C.
