exedy clutch

ok so im planning on dooing the manual swap over the winter and i figured i should do the clutch at the same time to avoid headaches down the road. thing is i really dont want a hard grabbing racing clutch ( at least not yet) and my ride is bumpy/jerky enough without one, so i figured i would just get a oe type replacement clutch. i found an exedy clutch kit on ebay for 125, with a 1 year manufacturer defect warranty. is it worth getting? again the only reason i would replace the cluch is for preventative maintenance.

spank you!

so far i give my exedy stage 1 a its basically just a quicker grabbing stock-like clutch, but its not too rough. The pedal is a little bit stiffer but not much, you get used to it. You can try mine if you want

get the exedy stageI. in my personal experiance, mild performance clutches are actually easier and smoother to drive than stock/OE grade replacements. the pedal is actually softer than with my last clutch (pieces of throwout bearing were missing, that probably had alot to do with it) but as far as that goes, you're better off listening to someone else..also, i have exactly .5miles on my clutch so again, i'm not a good person to listen to just yet on the exedy.

anyone who has the exedy, does it chatter when its first installed? i have a horrendous chatter now..but with all the problems i've been having i'm not really surprised but if its normal that would really make my day.

There's a big difference between the 100 dollar ones on Ebay and the Stage1, they're not the same if anyone was thinking that.

MadMax no my Exedy Stage 1 didnt chatter at all

Shaved,
I installed the Exedy Stage 1 (Izzy sold it to me), and the Fidanza Flywheel. I haven't really been able to drive it yet because of Insurance (going to get that fixed on 9/15) and because I bought the car with a bad tranny that needed to be replaced, I cant really tell a before/after, but compared to my dads stock 2000 SE 5spd, the Exedy grabs quicker, not harsher, but quicker. Well actually I think it can be harsher when your really pushing it, but thats because of the higher holding capacity, it wont slip where the stock one would. For example I was moving the car out of the garage and I accidently left it in gear and released the clutch (i think i either had my foot on the brake, or I had the parking brake on, but it jolted me abit, but at that time, one of my injectors was bad and the car really didnt have any power.

I think Jeff would be the guy to ask, but IIRC, the cheap ebay Exedy might be like the Key West kit, and its a general feeling with the guys who have used them to never ever buy them. But hopefully that cheap ebay exedy is a good OE Replacement clutch. If it is, then I'd probably jump on that (I havent heard any reviews or anything about it though), as thats a good price, my Exedy was $250 or $255ish shipped, and Izzy's the man

Key West = Florida resort territory. it's the island on the end of the string coming down off the end of florida. Gulf on the north/west side of it, and Atlantic on the south and east side.

it's on the far left corner of the map. florida is on the top right.
