NOPI and Isabel

any know whats up with nopi due to the comming hurricaine? either way it seems like it will miss GA, but we would end up hitting it on our commute down. anyone know if a "hurricane date" has been set? any one from the down south area have any intel in regards to evacuations and warnings? thanks guys for any input

I haven't been paying much attention to the news but it is very rare for anything more than a decent rain to come from tropical storms over here in Atlanta. We're far enough inland that it's usually not a problem (it's about 4-5 hours from here to Savannah which is on the east coast) and I wouldn't expect it to be for this weekend.

I would assume NOPI is still on if it rains but I dont really know for sure

He said he's not really worried about the weather in ATL but more about having to drive through it to get there. Juan Im pretty much with you on this one because I really dont want any cows or corn silos flying into my car.

I hear ya Jason, but if yall are takin the route I'm thinking of....the acutal storm will only be in a certain place of the east coast no?

Plus, yall can give me a call if you all want your cars detailed before the show....I know Jason would do it himself.....but any others..lemme know.

Juan, as for the evacuation stuff.....nah! The only warnings we have are for tornado's and those are very uncommon too.

Bring a raincoat!

Ironic choice of words, lol "eye".

Anywho, I am Still willing to drive down. I dont think there will be any problems along the way. If we drive in a timely manner we should be in south Jersey by 12:30 or 1am.

Meeting at my job at best buy in the city 23rd and 6th ave, continue on to the holland and get on the I 95 of 20 hour driving. I should be out by 11pm or if not sooner. I can always be sick*cough*

But the most important thing would be the tristate area driving. Once we hit South Jersey and MD we should be straight

yes and it sucks. its like one of those rain storms that you need to stop on the side of the road, but it lasts for hours, progressivly gets worse and can potentialy knock crap into your car. a few yrs back there was a cat 1 hurricane that hit miami, which is a good 130 miles of mainland across from me. there was so much rain and debris all over, and we only got the outskirts.

i was in raleigh nc, when hurrican fran went through. was a total disaster, tornado went through my backyard trees all over. and we were a good 300 miles inland. im not to sure how inland nopi will be, but be advised, isabel looks just as bad as fran did. might be in for some trouble

exactly...

i drove long distance in floyd a few years back and i don't see myself ever doing it again unless it's absolutely necessary. wind, rain, hail, potential tornados spawning out of no where. they are not fun. i would much rather see this thing go out to sea

i'd personally won't risk the trip, you'll never know when mother nature will unleash a hailstorm while you're on the road. i mean, so much work is put into the cars, like chris's and others on here. would suck if the anything would happen to them

latest forcecast is landfall thurs in NC and working it's way north all day thurs and into fri.

even if it hits at 125mph its going to get ugly...it'll weaken but 75 mph sustained winds will keep me from hitting the road in that crap.

yeah im still getting a bad vibe from everyone, and it seems i am going to miss every show i wanted to go to this year. i didnt want to go to summer slam and i ended up going and getting a trophy(show still sucks, overpriced, etc, getting off topic). oh well we shall resort to plan b, then pack it up for the winter

rain is one thing, but flying debris and my, yours, chris' and izzy's revived new paint wont mix.

btw bro, the pieces I need are the rubber moldings that go around the door, the rear vents on the rear deck, and the drivers side rear door sill(plastic), oh yeah and the rear view mirror cover.

If you dont have any of these its cool just letting you know what I dont have. I have a feeling maybe somethings maybe at jasons' house or maybe not.

If I were you guys I know I would not take my newly painted max down in that ****! Theres always next year and shows up here in the NE. I would love to go to nopi just to meet everyone but I will be in Orlando

what he said, we would be in the dc area friday when it hits, right around where they forecast it hitting( it is like a 600 mile radius). leaving early isnt an option, leaving later means we'll miss sat , dunno how that affects registration. a $70 loss for the tickets is cheaper than thousands in repairs if stuff flies into us.

exactly my thinking fellas. work wanted to see me go so they gave me thurs off. i'm leaving in a few hours. The loss for the tix is nothing compared to all the work we put into our cars. BTW judging begins bright and early on sat.

Ironically the storm is the female version of my name...Isael >>> Isabel. go figure. IWe all decided to go to nopi's last month, you cannot predict the weather but damn, this blows balzz.

I am so heated. I want to go somewhere. I can understand Jay and Juan for not going since they have show quility max, other than my shhitty ol max
