Posible?

Was it posible for a 94 GXE to come with the DOHC motor?

Was it an option?

Ok thanks for that I got another question.

If I wanted to swap the DOHC in would I need a trans or are the SOHC and DOHC the same?

Could I just swap the head?? <--maybe a dumb question or not.

Would you be able to if it were possible?? And if you would, consider how it would be done and explain it to us. Because if you aren't really mechanicly inclined enough, why ask? Same goes to any mechanic that you might hire to do the same.

think about this:

the DOHC has two cams, so the head is BIGGER than the SOHC...

That's not really the issue. Issues are chains vs belts, front covers, ignition issues, wiring issues, lubrication issues, and selling issues when one finally gives up.

Sorry for the dumb questions but I have no experiences with these car or with web boards?

What I found out is it may be possible to use the tranny but I will need the ecu.

If someone help me complete what I will need that would be helpful.

If your current engine is working properly, don't mess with it. If you want to convert from auto to 5-sp, fine. That is a doable mod.

Im just looking for some options for my brother. He does not have the car yet but he will be picking it up on saturday.

A swap is out of the question now because I was looking a prices and for an extra 30hp its not worth it. Well just do some work to this motor, nothing major just some bolt on stuff for now.

Q. What would be the best intake set up? (make)
Also I was reading advanced timing what would be the best degress to set it to?

Thanks for your help.

I did a search and found 20 degress is the most you want to go. Do you have to run high octane so you dont get spark knock?
