Oil in Intake Plenum??? Problem?? OR No
I removed the Intake plenum to change one of the injectors and I noticed a goodly amount of oil inside of it.. probably a teaspoon or so.
I guess this is blowing up through the PVC Valve - but it doesn't look like it. I don't know
Is this Normal? It wasn't - Doesn't seem to be burning oil or anything.
ANy Ideas??

No Doubt - but which seals would you check

I actually just put a new PCV valve in.. and the oil doesn't seem to be coming from there..
I'm at a loss.. There was probably a couple of teaspoons of clean oil in the intake plenum.
If the oil wasn't coming from the PCV valve - where would it be coming from?? I'm at a complete loss.
I'm scared to put the thing back together before I figure it out..

It doesnt come from the PCV itself, it comes from the intake of the PCV (that bent brass tube thats inside the intake next to the TB). Well since you have replaced your PCV it should not accumulate anymore unless your engine has a lot of Blow-By. At high rpm, the pcv can only handle so much blow-by, so what happens is it flows back through its intake (the brass tube). This is also how we all get a dirty butterfly on our TB causing some rough idle (either blow-by or a clogged PCV).
The FSM describes the way the PCV system works.
You really dont have to worry about it, its not a big deal. If you want to periodically clean the intake plenum and all the intake/exhaust valves, use Seafoam liq. and let the engines vacuum slowly suck it in (follow the instructions).

It's also the gunk that accumulates inside the valve covers. if you'll look at the intake, you'll notice two tubes that are about 3/4" diameter that connect into the intake. follow them back, and you'll notice they vent off the valve covers.
it's nothing to worry about- it's even on lower mileage engines, but gets worse over time as the blow-by gets worse.

I saw Graig and Byrant website on how to clean the air plenum and they both used an aerospray can (one of them was STP made) but I couldn't find them at any local stores these days. Would you guys knew where I could get one of those aerospray can?

Thanks for the Help Guys
Yep - I figured it was sucking the oil from somewhere...
Thanks anyway guys - I took the plenum completely apart - and took it and the intake down to the car wash with some Carb Cleaner and cleaned hell out of it..
It now looks like new.
I took the valve covers off and cleaned those as well.
Then I changed out all of the Injectors - with some New Borg Warner Injectors - I don't know if they are any good - but they are new yellow dot ones and cost about 20 less than real live Nissan ones.
I've got 4 known good yellow dot injectors for sale if someone wants to make me an offer..
Thanks for all the help - I'm going to finish buttoning this job up tonight.

Throttle body cleaner or carb cleaner. you can pick it up for a couple bucks a can at any auto parts store.

Yeah, I'll ask around one more time. It would be very interesting if I could clean them, I think throttle body cleaning is one of the most over looked maintanence ever.
