You can still use the stock converter with the warpspeed Y right?

I heard they were overpriced pieces of junk. If you want to spend $180 for a hi-flow cat get the metallic substrate one WSP sells. My $0.02.

Did you say you can't use the stock cat with a Warpspeed y-pipe?

Why?

You can use the stock cat if desired, you can order a carsound cat from warpspeed for $107.00 shipped. I've had it and no problems with it.

"optimum performance with minimal reduction of horsepower" Why do you want the "Y" pipe?

Arent they different sizes in diameter? Won't the exhaust leak?

It does work with the stock cat then. All the instructions I have read never mentioned buying a new cat. They just said to take the old pipe off and the new one will bolt right on.

So why did you say no? O_o

So you CAN use the y-pipe with the stock cat, it is just PREFERRED that you get a less-restrictive cat and cat back exhaust, for "optimum performance."

I want the y-pipe because mine is shot and warpspeed is cheaper than a oem one (by about 1/2). My cat and muffler are still fine. When they go out, I will probably replace them, too.

How much was the Warpspeed?
Why didn't you just go stock aftermarket?
I sell the stock replacement for $150

warpspeed is $215 shipped from them. I figured that I might as well upgrade. From what I understand, the stock y-pipe is the most restrictive part of the 3rd gen exhaust.

Then, later down the road I will probably put in a less restrictive cat or test pipe, and an after cat system.

not a bad deal. I'd probaly do the same.
Actually I was gonna do the same when I thought my Front pipe was bad. Turns out it was my Cat-back.
I'm gonna have my local shop bend up a custom pipe with no muffler just a resonater (sp?).
I like the noise just wanna move it back a bit

It won't leak since the stock cat and y-pipe meet up at a flange where there is a gasket in between and also the warpspeed comes with new gaskets.
