are you still on stock axles on those 35's do you have the stock dana 44 in the back or is it just the 35 and any lockers and what brand lift kit. my friend had a 98 tj with 38's rubicon 3.5 suspention 2in body 2in spring spacers stock dana 30 front open dif. back he broke the dana 35 3 times and then went to an 8.25 out of a cheroke with a trac lok that never broke and we tore the crapp outa that thing and i feel sorry for your front wheel bearings if you still have that dana 30 my friend had to change his every few months it was kinda pricey and dont get me started about the DEATH WOBBLE

Hey Ryan!

haha, man yesterday I was searching to try and find an old post about boreing out the VE and I found alot of your old Engine build/question threads and thought about your old car and the TJ. I was wondering if it was still stock like your old sig pic was.

Great to see your having fun with it. I'd love to get one, but I cant afford it now. Have you broken anything on the jeep? probably not, but normally theres a fun story behind every break.
good to see your back

the 8.25 is pretty sweet, and the trac-lok is my favorite (street + play), but I'm a huge ARB fan too.
9.25 + 3.92's + trac-lok = beast (maybe overkill for a non-V8 though). The only problem with going with say a 9.25" from a late model Dodge is that you will need the 6 lug wheels (just another expense) and brakes. The good news is you can swap Viper brakes onto it easily.

(sorry to go OT on your thread)

yeah there beefy and you would think it was over kill for my friends little 4banger and the funny part was he couldnt excelerate in 4th or 5th gear because of the 4:10 ratio and 38in tires. there was simply no power plus the 8.25 can only be upgraded to 4.56's which still is to tall for the little 2.5 he wanted 5.38's which is pretty crazy low. That and the fact that you couldnt get a full floter are the only complaints i have about the chrysler axles but the 9.25 handles the v8's in the dodge rams pretty well from what ive heard. but i gotta say dana 60 or ford 9in get my vote hands down great gearing otions and very well biult they are tryed and true to handling big power and really big tires sh*t dodge, chevy and ford used there share of the dana 60, 70 and 80 in there full size trucks

Sweet, I didn't know they had anything but tall buildings and crime on the East Coast!

My buddy has a sweet jeep with lots of mods.

Here's his rig:

LOL, good to see everyone's still here!!!!!

as for the axle...i've got a super 35 kit with 30 spline axle shafts, bigger bearings, superior axles, and a detroit locker. it'll hold up ok till i get my ford 8.8 in (32 spline, HUGE R&P, etc) the chrystler axle isn't much better than the 35 (or that's what i've heard). right now i've got an Advanced adapters slip yoke eliminator with an AA CV driveshaft, 4" skyjacker, custom front and rear bumpers (not like the pics, new ones), the winch, 35" BFG's, still on the stock 3.73's for now but with the 4.0 it's not bad, a B&M short shifter, white gauges (a lil max SE esq) JKS discoes, tomken rocker skids, MORE 1" motor mount lift, longer stainless lines yadda yadda yadda.

i miss all you maxima guys! i should swing by pa maximas. . . i haven't been there in forever!

http://www.offroadworld.net/mygallery.ten?id=3642 there's a bunch of my wheelin pics and pics of it on the 35's. i'm on my 3rd lift and 4th set of tires!!!!!

chris, ride is lookin sweet man! when u gonna convert to 5spd?

i installed the trac-lok on my buddy's jeep. damn after the install he needed like glue in the diff to keep the trac-loc quiet...but it's a great concept...wish the maxima had it.
