alternator question... again

Would an alternator that came out of an 87 maxima be compatible on a 93 maxima? I had mine rebuilt just a few weeks ago and it went again so i have to take it in under the 3 month guarantee and it would be easier if i had my car to drive....

probably not, especially if you've got a VE.

in either case, if you don't have to drive the car more than 40 or 50 miles, you can just remove the alternator, cover the wires, and drive on it. just don't run radio, headlights, AC, etc and you should be okay. done it several times.
also would be good to keep the battery on a trickle charger while you're parked at home to make sure it stays fully charged.

You know what.. I bought a new battery and cleaned my cables and everything is fine. I bought a new multimeter and it says my voltage is 14.2 ish with the car on and 12.60 off whereas the old multimeter would keep rising until it got to 18+ volts.

Lesson of the day: make sure your diagnostic equipment is working normally before you diagnose problems with them.

I still want to change my cables and possibly improve my ground contacts.

You still selling hyperground kits matt?
