Power Seats
Power Seats
I did the search and only found one thread regarding power seats ... I need to know if there is any way to move the power seats in a third gen (GXE) manually --- my passenger seat is stuck as far back in the brackets as it can go and this not only annoys my passengers, but I can't get to the screws in the center console to replace a bulb in my shifter. If anyone knows of any way to fix this please let me know (also it is only the passenger seat which doesnt work if anyone has any other tips to get it working again that would be cool too) I really appreciate everyones help THANK YOU

Don't know anything about manually moving the power seats, but all you have to do to change a bulb in your shifter is pop the trim from around your shifter off with a flathead, and then you have access to the shifter. The position of your seat shoudln't make a difference.

did the plug come undone under the seat, or did the motor fail, or the button get dirty?
when I installed some 300ZX seats in my car, the power buttons were all dirty and I had to tear it apart and clean it. the motor was also frozen from some water damage, but I tore apart the motor and fixed all of that also.
first step would be to remove the seat. there's a 14mm bolt on each corner of the seat, and the plugs underneath. then pull it out and go from there.

You could try by-passing the switch? Run some wire from your battery to the connector under the seat. If the fore/aft motor isn't fried, and/or the track isn't seized, the seat should move. If it moves the wrong direction, reverse the wires. If this works, you know you need to clean or install a new seat switch.
