Ok, either the arm rest or the glove box. I like the glove box idea the best, but to do this, I would need to cut out the back of the box so that the changer could fit. Anyone have a How2 for removing it so I can find out what is behind it and how deep I can go with the chager. I only need about 2 or 3 more inches in depth.
Thanks
RB

i think its fairly easy to remove. just a few screws. there is a diagram in chiltons, you can get that at a library.

The problem you'll run into is there ISN'T 2-3 inches behind the glove box. you run into air conditioner ducsting directly behind it. you may be able to mofidy the A/C housing to squeeze it in there though.. that'll be some detailed work I can't describe though.

The arm rest option won't work either, as the seat belt mechanisms are about 1.5" below the bottom of the tray inside the arm rest.

the only logical place I found to put the changer was under the seat. you can do either drive or passenger seat. I put mine under pass seat, just because I felt like it.

What kind of Changer is it?
I know JVC makes the smallest 12 disc changer in the world, but i don't know the specs on it. But from what i HAVE seen, not measured, it looks like it could fit in the glove box. I'd have to get the specs and measure the glove box.
Trunk or under the seat like matt said is the other options.

For JVC's 12 disc changers there:
Width: 9 15/16"
Height: 3 7/16"
Depth: 6 7/8"

so if your bored and have a tape measure.
As far as other changers go, i don't know, you'd have to look for the specs on there site or on the internet.

Yours truly has been entertaining the idea of putting a CD changer in the Max. Since I am getting an Eclipse 4441, I might get the Eclipse 5083 8 disc changer.

Matt, the idea of putting it under the seat interests me because of the idea of being able to have easy access and there would be better isolation from road shock.
I thought about putting it in the trunk but I was not sure which position would provide the best isolation from road shock.

CD Changer

I, too have mine under the driver's seat. It's a great place for road isolation. It's an Alpine and it literally NEVER skips. I hide it with the floor mat for the driver's-side rear seat.

Problem With under the seat

It snows here in Michigan. Then you get slush and ice and salt on the changer. Not good for it :-) Thats why it looks like it will be in the trunk since I really dont want to have to mess with the A/C stuff behind the box.

Not a Problem

I live in PA and get all of that slop too. Mine is towards the back of the seat facing backwards. It's never gotten wet. Just takes a reasonal amount of care. My magazines take up my whole glove box!
