Brake issues...any idea
Brake issues...any idea
Ok so over the weekend I changed my rotors and pads on my 93 SE. I wanted to change the brake lines also BUT the first one we tried to pull off was impossible so I said screw that for now.
Anyway after I got everything pulled off and cleaned up (I also painted the calipers but I dont think thats my problem.) and the new rotors put on I bleed the brakes. THat was my first time doing that after having taken off the actual brake lines but I finally got all the air out of them.
well the problem was when I took it for a test drive after puttin on my 2k2 rims. The brakes seem to be grinding and when I slow they pulsate (but not the same as my 2k2 abs pulsing).
I'm just curious if I just need to get them set in a little longer or what. THe rotors are the Brembo blanks and axxis metal masters pads. It was late when I finished the quick test drive and I didnt pull the wheels back off and look.
I'll put pics up as soon as I get some in the next day or so.

I'm assuming the rotors didn't come warped so it sounds like they're not on straight.
Pull them off and retighten them, make sure to use a criss-cross patern when tightnening them so they do on evenly.
maybe you also need to set the pads in evenly and push caliper in a bit more.
that's all I can think of, sorry.

New rotors can be warped right out of the box, it is very common! You may also have a sticking caliper or have them on crooked. The first thing to do is definately pull it apart and check that the calipers and rotors are on right then if that is all straightened out check the rotors.
