If I did that I would still have to charge $130 for a set of tinted lights. $40 (at least...still dont know how difficult that would be or if I can get that color) for what you want me to do + $40 extra to buy the lights (essentially you want $80 for the headlights) then tint them for $50 = $130 and I kinda doubt anyone will spend that on factory lights...even tinted ones. We will see though. I have an extra set of lights but I dont want to mess with them because I will put them on the car if I decide to sell or if i get tired of the E36s.

I could always do a core charge thing but what if the person sends me a crappy set of lights? Then I dont refund their core charge and they get ticked at me and say their lights were fine when they shipped them and try to bad mouth me on the board.

I may consider this option though since I think I have a good enough rep on this and other boards that most will know that the person making the claim I was trying to screw them is BSing. I just dont know if I want to open up that can of worms.

Of course there is still a big IF on that anyway since I dont know if anyone will want it done.

I mean I thought I would have a ton of people wanting their clears tinted since every other day you have people asking about UK corners and I now offer something thats as close as you can get and I have a total of 2 people getting it done. Maybe its because I dont have a whole clear corner tinted and they are unsure of how it will look.

 

Do you mean like actually make the clears and then tint them, just make regular untinted clears or get a set of already made clears and tint them?

I dont have the means to make clears and have them look good. If they make a set of clears for that pathfinder and you want me to tint them then I will do that. If they are smaller I will charge less.



For that matter if anyone wants me to tint their turn signals, fog lights or anything else on your maxima or even any other car just let me know and I will give you a price.

what i'm saying is do the core charge thing so you can just tint a set and ship them out as soon as you recieve payment/another core. it'll only really work if you have alot of people to do it then you could charge $5-$10 more for each set to cover the initial "core" set(obviously the extra fee would be the convienience of the buyer having less downtime).
theres always ebay...sell 'em as "JDM headlights"..maybe do the clear headlight cover mod to make the corner and headlight one piece and call it"JDM 1piece"...haha

i definately want something done with my corners/turn signals..if my idea doesnt work out i'll do the UK thing defiantely.

 

Did a headlight today. I did it one more coat than I should have. It looks good but is too dark IMO. I mixed a little more black in than last time just to see if the corner looked closer to the UKs than the last one I did. IMO the color I did on the other lens looks much closer to the UK...in person at least.


They look like they have light and dark spots in the pictures but the do not. It looks like that because of the way the reflector and the cut of the lens.

Like I said they were a little too dark for me. I think they look great but might hurt light output a little too much. I obviously can make them lighter but I didnt have enough clear mixed up to re do them this time. I will probably do it lighter when I tint the corners I have coming.

 

good idea with the matching tinted headlight but imo the stock headlights cant afford any more hinderance

yeah I agree...but some people were interested so I figured what the heck.

No I still dont have my car back (grrr) BUT they are so close to the UKs that you can get a general idea by looking at my old pics with the BMW lights and the UK corners. Thats the main reason I like the tinted corners...they match up well with the BMW lights.
