Bad Jerking when accelerating.....

ANyone had this. I push the gas pedal down and all the car does is jerk and the tach goes up and down.

If you drive like a granny there seems to be no problem, but as soon as you push the gas down to kick it down a gear (AUTO) it starts the jerking thing horrible.

Let me all know what you think.

Thanks
NEWGUY

Check your TPS to start with. or take it to a competent and reliable trans shop.
what color is your trans fluid?
How does it smell?

Throttle Position Sensor.

Trans fluid should be Cherry red not burnt sienna red. and shouldn't have any real smell to it

My car does the jerking too but if I let it "warm-up" for about 5 minutes before actually driving it then it doesn't do that as opposed to just pulling off. This only occurs in the winter time though.

My car does it hot or cold, does not matter. But mostly when you push the accelerator down to kick it down a gear and then it bucks.

I talked to my local mechanics ( GOOD FRIENDS) and they said right off the bat it had to be 1 of 2 things: Either the coil pack or the fuel injectors, so i take it in today to have them look it over.

Anyone have any links to where i can find these two items cheap?

Thanks

You got NGVG injectors in your car.
Advice: Buy 6 brand new not reman, there is a very high defect rate on those particular injectors.

But they are quite likely at least part of your problem.

Have the timing checked.

Very easy to check/adjust and can cause the problems you are having. Since you just got the car, someone may have improperly adjusted the timing previously.

If the problem persists after timing adjustment, move on to the other items being mentioned.

Good luck,
Tim

Jerking is only when you kick it down and then it only bucks once or twice. (RPM's go from about 3500 to 1000 and then back real quick) I just had the wires and plugs replaced and it stopped for several days and then when it rained this week it started to do it again.

ALso when i tried to start it that day too, it just turned over and over and never started, i had to try it 3 times before it started.
