Sunroof question

Hi,

Does anybody know how to fix sunroof flapping (in other words, with a small push the front end of the sunroof moves up a little; the same thing with the back side).
I have already checked - weather stripping is fine.

Thanks,
Alex

I have same problem (sunroof glass rattling), but it's strange, because it was present since the car had about 30k mi. It is now over 10 years old, but the rattling was something that was in my car for as long as I can remember.

I do remember almost a year ago, seeing a "fix" where somone stacked some washers and installed them to stop the rattle, but I didn't save the URL, and I can not seem to find it anymore. Maybe the fix actually didn't work, and the person took the how-to off...

If anyone has answers, I'd really appreciate them.

Wait, it's rattling or what? If so, then just tighten down the bolts holding in the glass by simply removiving the two molding pieces.

should be able to find it in a search, take off the plastic covers from the inside and unscrew the glass from the tracks, add a few small washwers between glass and tracks then retighten, it helped mine get a lot better but still rattles some times.

which washers size did you use?
should I add 'em just to the front or rear as well?

thanks

I took the sunroof off and looked at the little bolts and just guessed when I bought a small package of small washers. Sorry I can't be of more help there, they were about the diameter of a pencil with a hole large enough for the little bolt to go through.

Actually I was asking how thin they should be ...

rattler

i have the same rattling problem. i have found it to be minimized when i close the sunshade. often disappears. however, i will take the advice of removing the molding and then tightening the bolts. that seems simple enough. the rattling is annoying.
