VG idle RPM?
VG idle RPM?
I tried to fix my broken tach. I took the cluster apart, and resoldered every connection, dremeled the screw threads (because they are the ones that make the connection), and now the tach works. One problem.
While soldering, I accidentally popped the needle off, and I tried to stick it back on. I think I must have put it on at a wrong setting, because when I floor the car, and the A/T shifts from 1st to 2nd at redline, the tach now reads 4700RPM.
I am thinking that I'll remove the cluster lens, re-install it, and pull the needle off, start the car, and at idle, replace the needle at the engine idle rpm...
My only question is, can anyone tell me what their idle RPM is? I have the VG engine in a 92 GXE.
Thank you,

How does the needle pop off anyway? I replaced my cluster with an SE white faced one so I was experimenting with my old cluster trying to take the needles off and whatnot. Well I pulled very hard on the needle but it would not come off!
