putt-putt noise in exhaust.

Hi guys, lately I've noticed a putting noise from my muffler when I'm standing outside the car when it is idleing. According to the Tach and the listening to the engine the car seems to be idleing smoothly. I was getting bad mileage and bad low end power, but I switched to 93 octane from 87 and power seems to be back and fuel mileage has increased greatley. The only thing that I've done to my Max is ground the VTC's, clean the TB, and install new Bosch Platinum's about 3 months ago. It sonds like it is missing, but doesn't fell like it. Anyone have any idea's?

Not sure, but the spark plugs might be fouled. I've heard of people having problems with the bosch's on our cars. Try pulling one out and see if its wet or has carbon on it.

This was discussed earlier in another post...funny you didn't find it with the search. Anyway, check your injectors. Several of us have had the same symptoms with an injector that was bad. We have VG's, but it should be the same on a VE.

As stated earlier in this thread. Pull the plugs and check them they'll tell you what's going on

Same scenario, putt putt from the exhaust had the mechanic to change spark plugs about 4 months back because I thought the car was missing. He did what I asked. Problem contines. Before you attack...I'm a girl with basic understanding of cars. Since I had another code that said I was running rich and the p1078 code we changed out the MAF. Condition still exists. Took it to the stealership a few days ago and they said $3K - change the engine harness due to an issue on bank 1. 2016 Maxima SL. What is happening here fam?
