Original Wiring

I own a 1991 Maxima, it's an automatic with the factory Bose system. The back speakers were blown when I got the car, and the tape player had to go. I recently bought a Pioneer CD-Player (DEH-1500), and 2 4" Pioneer speakers (TS-7S-G1047). I read a post on the forum about being able to use the original wires if you just dont use the amp wiring and whatnot ( ). Because the thread was not very specific and didn't have any pictures, I went at it myself. I took the speaker box off the door, and disconnected it from the male blue connector. I remembered there were only 2 wires going to the reciever for each speaker, and noticed this one had 4. So, using my big brain I cut the ones that were the same size as the ones going into the reciever, and left the other 2 (that were a higher gauge I believe, I'm not sure where these wires jumped into the loop at, I was assuming they were from the battery to power the amps in the factory speakers) connected into the blue connecter. I then took the 2 I cut and ran them to the speaker, and then screwed the speaker box back up and the panel. The front 2 sound great. I don't have enough money for back speakers yet, so I'm gonna get a picture of the blue connecter from the rear speaker's harness thing and show you all what I cut.

Sorry, having problems with getting the pictures, my digital camera is giving me crap. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and can tell me I did the right thing that'd be great.

In one of the recent posts you'll find the wiring diagram for both the bose and nonbose radios.
So search again you'll find it

I did this when I installed my speakers, all 4, they sound great too... When I bought the stuff at best buy they told me that they were going to have to rip out the old stuff and run new speaker wire... I wonder if they would have taken the time to run the wire or would they have taken this shortcut, charged me for new wire and labor, hoping that no one would care/ notice...
