I have a question regarding some irregular brake activity I've noticed lately. It only happens every once in a while and only when backing down my driveway. Just for your info, the driveway is fairly steep. Anyway, when I begin backing down the driveway I apply the brakes and they will be working fine and then all of a sudden it's like the pedal depresses a little and braking is lost for say a split second and then it grabs again. What could be causing this? I have a 93 Maxima GXE and it DOES have ABS. Is this the ABS acting up? Like i said, it only happens when backing down the steep driveway, and it has never happened while driving anywhere else. I'm confused on what could be causing this. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It IS the ABS

We have a second 94 SE with abs and it does the same thing. According to our dealer it is perfectly normal. My car doesn't have abs and does not do this. I have the full Stillen brake package on mine. Our driveway is also inclined and the car with abs does it everytime you back down the driveway. It did this right from new. Wouldn't worry.

Normal.......that's interesting

That's pretty surprising that they consider that normal, but thanks for the info. Glad to hear someone else has the same situation and it's not much to worry about. I appreciate it.
