Need Differential!!!

hey guys,
i need to get a differential, i've got a VG ... i called everywhere and i dont know (niether do they) if any differntial will fit my tranny i went to the Nissan dealer ship to get information to see if any tranny will fit, and none will, then i asked if any other tranny will fit and they can't say yes, or no, b/c they dont know. so pretty much i found out that the nissan dealer ship doesnt know anything about transmitions. so im still looking for some customizing shop or someone that could do the job. but as now, there is no luck.

so i'm thinking about a tranny swap, or do a custom differential install,
and any other information about anything will help
do you guys know anyone that does this kind of work, well all the information would help, thanks alot

whats are you talking about?? pretty sure there is a differential in the VG tranny. and use the search...VE 5spd tranny swap with LSD is possible or you can have custom LSD made by Phantom Grip or something(I know someone doing this as we speak for a VG)

Since the diffy is an integral part of the transmition(hehe!), you pretty much have to replace the whole thing. Maybe a quaife? That would be $1200 or so + installation.(if they even have one for the old VG transmition(hehe!).

see if you can fit one from a Ford. the posi rears will help a lot in the traction.

Impossiable.
Our Differiential is built into the transmission, which is actually why its called a Transaxle.

As DA-MAX said, aside from a factory unit, unless you can get one from PhantomGrip, your SOL. Also BigDogJohnX had one custom built for his 2001 SE Turbo, might ask him for the contact info for the guy who built his.

Ford Posi is the same thing as a clutch based LSD last time I checked.

the differential will come out, at least in the RS5F50A (VG tranny) it will.

that nissan dealership is full of idiots. the RS5F50V (VE limited slip tranny) will bolt up to the VG engine. i think the things you have to change on the car are the axles and the hubs since the splines on the axles are different or something like that. the case on the RS5F50V is also a bit bigger where the lsd is because of the lsd's larger size, from what i've been told.

if you want less wheel hop, polyurethane motor mounts are supposed to fix that. the only problem is you have to make them yourself since none are made for our cars.

ok,
so let me see,
if i get a VE limited slip and get a new axle, it will go in
OR i could call up phantom grip and ask them to make me a custom limited slip that would probably be MUCH MUCH better, also MUCH MUCH more exspensive.
does anyone know where i can get the urathane to make the mounts? and i think i know how to make the mounts but maybe a write up or just some instructions ... thanka lot guys your SOO helpful.

Or you could do what I said and ask a specific member about a custom LSD.

Urethane for the mounts.... Home Depot? I think Aaron ordered his online, not entirely sure though.

You could hack a piece of delrin in there along with some polyurethane for a bit more stiffness.

You obviously dont know very much about cars because laying "duals" does not mean that you have a differential, it just means that you either have a posi diff or a limited slip diff. Every car has to have some sort of differential or the tires would wear so fast it would make your head spin.

No, you could not steer your FWD car with out spindles or CV axles.

A differiential transfers motion, it will only make the wheels lock up if you have a locker or spool installed, or if you weld it.
