Rear speakers

I,ve read that the best fit for the rear speakers are 6 3/4. I was looking at the Infinity Kappa's 652. 5i. Does anyone have these in their car? Or ever heard them before? And are these recommended? What speakers do u have in ur Max's. Let me kno thanks...

it is so called GM standard. Some 6.5" speakers come with an adapter to fit in 6 3/4". Or ... make an adpter yourselt.

BTW, 5x7 at front are very nice but a custom adapter is required

not the 'best' as in best, but they seem to be the best bang for the buck...

just as an example - I would make 'em myself but not everybody wants to / able to

PS: I have 4x6 at front right now but I'll be replacing 'em with 5x7 (infinity "plus one"). so I'll get a chance to show my creativity

yo man why waste ur time with 6 inches?????? stick with the 6x9 if you got em and dont waste money on a adapter...your biggest advantage with a 6x9 speaker is the fact you will get a bigger magnet size (Depending on ur speaker) as internetautomar said. unless if you want component speakers all around including your front two doors and your rear deck..do a conversion. but other than that..stick with the 6x9's (if u got em)

I have the infinity reference 605cs (6.5 comp. set)in the front doors and i really don't like them. the highs are ear piercing. and the mids are to shallow for my liking. they should be much better than they are since they're part of the reference series. seems to me that infinity cheaped out on the 605cs
I wouldn't recommend these particular speakers to anyone.
but everything else i've heard from infinity has been pretty solid, so go figure

I'm a little confused here, do you have the 605cs', which are the kappa series or the 6.5 6000cs' which are the reference series? Reason I ask is because the Reference seires is infinity's entry level and will problbly not give you the sound quality that you are looking for, the kappa's are the middle of the road and should give you better sq but its all relevent.

i have the reference 605cs (6.5 component set with tweeters & crossovers)
i personally don't like them. i expected better for a mid level speaker. but i got the pair for pretty damn cheap, so i shouldn't complain.

the order of their series goes:
entry: kappa
mid: reference
high end: perfect

Like Ericc said, this is correct.

shock211,

Check out this link http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9dU6S2Q...earch=infinity

I'm still trying to figure out if you have the kappa's or reference series. The model number you keep giving is for the kappa's.

i just checked the crutchfield link.
mine would be the same as the 6000cs. all the specs are the same but mine are last years model so they look just a tad different. funny thing is....the site says the msrp is 199.99 usd. i paid 200.00 cdn back in may 03'
just get the perfect series!!! i'm sure it'll be worth it.

i think im just gonna get some 6.5 fosgates. im gonna make pods for them in the front and im gonna stick with fosgate 6x9's. i would get inifinities but we dont sell them at best buy and i can get fosgates for a third of the price.
