If you guys just want the adapter, nearly every one on ebay that's a 3" opening, are all the same. They have slotted holes and they SAY are "universal."

I got one for the Maxima a while back on ebay, and it was exactly the same as one I got for my altima.... they DO NOT fit perfectly. The flange shape doesn't match, which isn't a big deal. The only issue is that the bolt slots have to be opened up a bit to make the bolts fit to it.

Yeah, but I wouldn't risk not having a good seal between the adapter and the MAF itself...don't want junk getting sucked into the intake. And I did think about re-drilling/opening up the bolt holes on the ebay adapter I got, but there is simply not enough metal TO drill. If you're getting an adapter, might as well get one that was designed for your engine. My $.02

What I'm saying is that unless somebody custom makes one, or you pay big money for an entire kit, you will likely get a universal one that will need modding a bit anyway. I'd rather pay $10 for it than $40.

The seal shouldn't be a problem. You just center up the air hole and then open up the bolt holes as needed. It's no big deal to do it. It took me about 10 extra minutes to open the holes, and half that time was because I was working in the driveway on the car and had to walk back and forth in the garage to use air tools to open the holes up.

so if MAFs are not prudent to make, we can get those pre-made and mod them. i am fine with that.

what about the pipes?

pipes, I can't help out on. I made my own out of a 3" od stainless elbow, and a rubber coupler from a 300zx (any 3" would work though.) All I had to do is drill one hole and weld on a small pipe for the one hose that drops down into the stock intake piping just next to the "up pipe."

i suppose i'm searching for the final word, if there will ever be one: do the pipes even exist at all? if they do, then i don't care if they're in raw form. i'll take them unwelded and figure it out myself.

RTV is your best friend.

as for the pipes, the midpipes are chillin in my garage. no support bar, no maf's no paint, no endpipes, no filters.

selling the midpipes for $100 bucks shipped EACH.

edit: not really.

see there is the cheaper somewhere else post.I am sorry to be a dic about it but some on $10 for something you have to make fit your car or 30-40 for something that fits perfectly and is well crafted?

The way I look at my car is price means nothing,i want good solid parts, not something i have to screw with to get it to fit and then look like crap since the flange isnt right.Sure some people dont mind a ghetto looking ride but I thoguht most of them drove hondas.why not get a universal oil filter,yo just have to use some rtv to make it seal :P

Maybe my point wasn't very clear... what I'm saying is that I have bought 2 cheap adapters off ebay before. One was specifically listed as for a Maxima, and the other specifically listed as for an Altima. Neither fit without modification. Now, if you KNOW that one will fit perfectly and are willing to pay a few more dollars, that's fine...

but how are you going to feel if you THINK you are paying a bit more for one because it it will fit perfectly... and when you get it, it's the same damn thing I got for mine and had to mod?

If you're going to pay more for one, make sure it will fit perfectly ahead of time..and don't take the word of those selling them, find out from somebody that has put it on a Maxima before.

It's easy to use them, just put a filter on the other end and duct tape it to the maf
