VE Engine Modding. Howto get real power!

Ok guys, the following is not for the weekend warrior, the stuff I'll be doing in this write up will be pretty intense, might be hard to follow, and at some point, might make some people cry.
I am not responsible if you fall out of your chair and hurt yourself because you were laughing too hard.

On with the write up. I linked the pictures for my servers sake, or most of them anyway.

Step 1:
First you will start off with a VE in good shape, or bad shape at that, it doesn't matter, you wont kill it.
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140394.JPG

Step 2:
Add 6 more Ignition Coil packs. For best results none of them should be cracked.
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140395.jpg

Step 3:
Next you must add some extra displacement. I've always said if we had a 3.5l VE we would have more power/torque than a VQ, here's how to do that.
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140396.jpg
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140397.jpg
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140398.jpg

Step 4:
Next we need a larger air filter. I was going opt for a dual 4v 600cfm carb setup, but I couldnt find my spare holley and didnt want to disconnect the fuel line on my edelbrock. Anyway, this VE is now sporting an 8" Edelbrock Air filter. Polished but not clean.
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140399.jpg
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140400.jpg

Step 5:
Now after a test drive, I found that 8" was just too restrictive for our large displacement engine (dare I say big block?). So I decided to unwrap this 14 beast (again, edelbrock) and install it. Looks nicer too because it is brand new!
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140401.jpg
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140402.jpg
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140403.jpg

From inside the car:
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140405.jpg
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140407.jpg

Step 6:
But wait a minute, why have extra parts in the garage, if you ask me, who ever has spare parts and is not using them is insane. So here we go, 14" and 8" filters shotgunned. Looks quite nice dont you agree?
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140408.jpg
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140409.jpg

Step 7:
Now with all this extra power, and the big vacuum under the hood, your going to need to get more air. For this I relied on my grill from my wrecked 1993 Maxima SE. Its black so it will stealth its appearance. An added benefit is it will reduce under the hood temperatures, and everyone knows lower temps = more power.
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140410.jpg
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140411.jpg

Step 8:
Dont be dangerous. With all this extra power we are going to need more fuel. To achieve this I just added 2 more fuel rails (4 injectors total). This should prevent the powerful VE from leaning out.
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140412.jpg
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140413.jpg

Step 9:
Gasoline. Yes I've recently had troubles with gasoline, but fear not, I have come up with a solution to my lack of gas. Only a picture could describe this mod.
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140414.jpg

Step 10:
Now guys, this next one is a big one, and going to be very hard to track down, but you need some 1st version Maxima.org stickers. Not the italics ones. I have a feeling these will be about as sought after as our 4DSC stickers.
http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/vemods/PC140393.JPG

Now you are ready to go for a drive. If it wasn't 1 am I would go show you what this stuff can do.

oh yeah, I like replies, It shows me that my boredom has paid off.

you've been in the garage too long, there must be some fumes still left in those fuel rails cause you're slowing losing it!

Shawn.... go outside, get some air, and for the love of Maximas everywhere, stay away from poorly vented, enclosed areas.

I am going to walk in from the fresh air, enter your fume-fulled garage, then make fun of you for this post.

Hahah, besides, everyone knows that red = faster.

Plus, opposites attract so, dashing through the motor of Dave's (red [haha w00t]) engine bay is my strut brace opposite every line that you, sir, have elequantly established.

Just you wait, I'll get to showing off my ground kit someday and you'll be 6 feet under in no time.

btw, whats up with everyone not using their superw00t sig's?

[sig] ..null.. [/sig] ??

Wow, just wow. I would assume you are getting a kit together? Any ballpark price estimates? Dyno numbers?

Nah I just made mine own because Matt didn't accept food stamps.

(really i'm just a cashless student with no homework).

Dyno numbers are off the chart (and onto the seat under which I sit on, and to sum up all the numbers, it basically pushed me farther back a good 5 millimeters more than it did before. You do the math.).

Price: eleventy billion us dollars. $cha ching.

Uncracked coils- $dunno
Injectors + rails/FPR- $dunno
8" edelbrock air hat to clear MSD Distributor $20?
14" edelbrock air hat thing $25?
gas can with old gas- $5-10?
piston, rings and connecting rod- almost priceless?
Poor Time Management Skills- Haven't recieved an estimate from internetautomar yet.

horse power? double stock because there is twice as many coils. torque, 5x stock because there is .5l more displacement. Lets say after labor $500, but you wont be able to shut your hood unless you make it pop up like my 'prototype':

thats almost as funny as when my brother had an accord engine in the back of his accord (had two and rebuilt one engine), and told some kids that he had the second engine to power the rear wheels.

Who needs a hood? just take it off... your engine will run cooler, your car will be lighter, and you can sell the hood to pay for some of these parts

You mean like my old cutlass with a 350 in the trunk and a 3.8 under the hood?
(one had no crank the other no fuel line)
