Well it's true. Cupholders are a tacky convenience feature. 3rd gen is all business.

Actually Cmax03 came up with a brilliant idea which we haven't tried yet involving the existing ones on the glove box door.

its true, every old school sports car ive driven doesnt have cupholders. 3rd gen cupholders sucked nuts though, everything always spilled

im not reading the old posts in this thread but theres threads on how to make a Ford Taurus cupholder fit a 3rd gen

Let me guess, add cylinders? I'm actually glad that they're there, I use the level surface all the time as a table of sorts. Even use it as a cup "holder" sometimes, but not while driving. Anyway, they're hidden and can hardly be considered cup holders since they don't work while in motion. Can't imagine how many cups of coffee have been spilled because of those things..

I used to use one of those generic trash bin/cupholder deals and keep it in one of the footwells, it worked well and was adjustable for any size cup and I never had a spill.

I can't imagine how many people have put a drink there while driving and entertained the thought that it would stay.
