Just picked up my 89 max, its sweeeet!
This thing is awesome but its loud as hell the piping and muffler has rusted out, oops. and it need a right side cv joint. but thats it, the only thing is that the fog lamps dont come on. i dont know if its the switch or
lights or what. oh well. the only question I have is that when i accelerate it kinda hesitates but it pulls like a tractor and hauls A$$.
could anyone help me out with this?

The foglight swith is on the left side, near the light switch. It is not connected to the steering wheel but it is next to the cruise control switch. It is a little to the right of the drivers left air vents.

and buy a full set of 4 window regulators from internetautomar because you'll need those sooner or later anyway too
I use my aftermarket fogs a LOT..in heavy rain, snow storms, and, in fog..mine didn't come with fogs, so I bought my own and mounted them closer together than the stock ones are..cheapo $12 wal-mart specials..

Yeah I guess fogs arent important in florida but as far as the exhaust it sounds like its rusted underneath the firewall, is that just piping or the headers (factory). Hey internetautomar would you give me a set price for all 4 regulators?

It sounds like you are going to need a y-pipe if it's rusted in that area. We need pics to tell exactly what the problem is or what needs to be replaced.
You had better just get a warpspeed y-pipe and be done with it. It's cheaper than a new stock one, anyways and give you better performance.

Yes, having build many exhuast systems I can tell you EXACTLY what this is. N/A engines rely on scavanging (the exhaust creates a vaccum as it travels down the exhaust system, effectively "pulling" exhaust out of cylinders as their exhaust valves open). Since your exhaust is so short, the velocity of the exhaust at low RPMs isnt suficient to create scavanging, creating a drop in torque, or as seen by you "hesitation". Once the velocity is sufficient to create a scavanging, youre car "pulls". The reason it pulls like a bat out of hell is there is much less back pressure.
The ideal N/A exhuast system is low back pressure, high velocity. I built a very short (no cats, mufflers, etc) for my 89, and it pulls like stock, till about 3k, at which time it feels like a turbo kicking in.

Thanks guys!, how much was the y pipe and where do I get it from?oh and another ques? I saw someone sand down the saw blade like se wheels and they look very aluminum like and shiny? my wheels are factory painted though. will they turn out like that if i wet sand them w/ fine grit paper?

You can get a y-pipe from warpspeed. They run $200 + shipping ($15, I think)

The y-pipe is probably the most restrictive part of your exhaust, so upgrading will help give you some hp.
I have seen some sawblades sanded down and polished, too. They are alloy, so you just have to do some research on it. You will have to paint your center caps, though. They are plastic, even on the fake aluminum-looking 92-94 SE ones.
My first Maxima I bought was a 92 that I bought in 95, but I traded it in, so 2K3Titanium has me beat! My current Maxima I've had since last spring.
