ok so the mids would be in the back while the speakers are in the front.

right..bass and midbass frequencies arn't really directional which is why subs can be in thr trunk and sound fine, however, midrange and highs are very directional..this is why you want your highs and midrange in front..ideally, you would have highs, midrange, and midbass in front of you, and have true bass (40 hz and below) behind you..but, this would be difficult to achieve in a Max..if you built pods for some 6.5" or 5.25" midrange in the kickpanels, you could get some 6 3/4 midbass in the doors, or vice versa with some work..this would sound pretty decent, except for the MASSIVE vibration in the doors from the midbass, or the vibration in the dash if you have them in the kickpanels..not to mention, you would HAVE to put some REALLY heavy grilles over the kickpanel speakers to prevent them from being kicked in..

If you don't mind your seats being immobile, you could build enclosures for some midbass and mount them in front of the front seats facing forward..

I had a pair of 8" subs that I was going to put under the front seats, but there wasn't quite enough clearance, so they laid in the back floorboard for a while, then I took them out..if I could have gotten them to fit without some serious modding, this would have been a superb system, but nothing is easy..
