transmission issues

I've got a '93se with an automatic lsd. seems the transmission doesn't want to pull all the time.
it started having trouble when it started getting cold. when I would start it in the morning and put it into gear it would jerk into gear. after it was warmed up it didn't have this problem. eventually it would do this weather it was warm or not. now .... when I pull up to a stop sign it will kick out of gear and won't pull at all till I give it a little gas, then she lunges forward and barks the tires. at this point while I am cruising down the road at 60mph if I give her some gas she pulls a little bit but it won't lock down into one gear and pull.
I just pulled the tranny this morning, and have some front pump seals and gaskets on their way from nissan.

has anyone had such problems as I have?

I am thinking(hoping) that the front pump seals of gaskets need to be replaced, but haven't ruled out something wrong with the valve body assembley.

any info would be great
thanks
jesse
