It is a very nice Max. I am surprised he isn't an .org member.
I think that hp number must be after a turbo is installed. I don't think those mods would more than double hp over stock to the wheels without some kind of boost.
MrGone, Spipedong or LittlePiggie can correct me if I'm wrong, but Maximan has a V2 supercharger, CAI, catback and MEVI on his VQ and he pulled around 280 hp at the wheels.

Limited Slip Differential and they came on some VE equipped, ie 92-94 SE models. The best way to check if you have one is to look at the tranny code on the firewall of the engine bay. If the tranny code ends in a V (I think that is the letter, someone correct me if I'm wrong) then you have a VLSD, which is a Viscous LSD, meaning that it uses fluid to split the torque to the two wheels. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm is a great site for more detail.

that built *N/A* VG30 makes a case against all of the arrogant VE and VQ superiority. you can swap an LSD from a VE into a VG max if you swap out all the axles and knuckles and bearings. it is neither cheap nor fun but can be done.

Chad, I want a set of GTR wheels
Dave- I dont think your LSD is working, I went up the 76 hill a few hours ago and wasnt jerking the wheel around at all.
LSD turns a one tire fire into 2 tracks.

dialogue continues
shawn, i can locate a set of GTR wheels for you. but you have to buy them!
brian, wait til i build my N/A vg and i'll show you the timeslip, buddy.
i saw a skyline yesterday parallel parked on magnolia in NOHO. i did a double-take, then parked and walked up to it. it was an R33 GTS25t, oxblood red metallic, black leather, RHD. my awe slightly diminished when i saw it was autotragic. but it was beautiful. people gathered around it. my dad was with me and he said "oh. i can see why you like these so much." (geez. bout time).

Some inconsistencies:
*IF* and I mean if he has a 281hp na VG. That would require some serious compression(well over 11:1. prob closer to 11.5 or 12:1) and some serious breathing mods, He's not going to get much for hp when he puts the turbo stuff on.
He really needs a set of headers
Nice car though!

didn't the site say turbo stuff was going in summer of 03? summer of 03 is now past so if he was right the turbo stuff should be in and that possibly is the number he's pushing. the mods he has with a turbo should easily put him in the 280 hp area with enough boost.

i think a built VG would need to be taken far into a total internal world of deep-pocket sacrifice. but would be cool bragging rights *if* done. from other threads i have started and read about this topic, it is generally not worth the gains for a VG project.
better to stick with the project S14.

Why Da Hell Would Anyone Put As Much Money In A Vg When You Can Drop A Ve Which Drops Your 1/4 By Atleast 1 Sec. Not Only That It Was A Freakin Auto!!!! Lets Make A Guess That The Mods Cost About 5g's On The Low End. Why Not Drop In A Skyline Engine (lol). But What's Wrong With Dropping In A Ve Engine Then Turboing The Hell Out Of It!!! Then Adding In Some More Mods To Add Into The Performance And Looks.

as for turdlet.....did you think before you wroe that last post?? lets see the VG has only proven itself in both the street/strip and full race scene as one of Nissan most tried and true blocks with a decent amount of aftermarket valvetrain and internal mod support, why would you NOT build off that base?? Ignorance is bliss. the VE is far from God.
#34
technology wise the VE is more advanced as it should since it was introduced in 92...but IMO as far as being one of Nissans most widely used and nearly bullet proof motors from 1985+ the VG 9 out of 10 takes the cake(aside from the more hardcore non-stateside Nissan blocks like the SR and RB)
