That's easy. Because drilling and/or slotting a rotor puts stress risers into the metal which will lead to quicker cracking of the rotor.

And yes, the racers use them. But they are also willing to replace them every few hundred miles.

Yes, Porches come from the factory with "drilled" rotors. But Porches rotors are not drilled, they are cast with the holes in them. This drastically reduces the occurance of stress risers.

Any other rotor you see started life as a blank and was machined to have holes or slots.

On the street you will never know the performance difference.

All your getting with holes and slots for a street car is bling (all lower case, no punctuation, single bling cause it ain't that cool or special anymore).

If it ain't listed ask, They can probably get it anyways

Rumor has it he's a nice guy
That's where I was checking for the Brembo fronts. After shipping, it'll be about $100/pair. I'm still open to suggestions for which pads to get. I'm leaning towards Raybestos QuietStop up front unless some1 gives me good reason to do otherwise. I might just go with some cheaper Raybestos pads in the rear.

Thanks in advance. Because of this site, I'm keeping my sight and downloading less ****. That should be my sig.

are you implying that I should add the raybestos pads to the site.
I know I've been slacking off lately.
I just revamped my whole import control arm section

Jeff92se, do you have a link to another thread, that can let me know what all is need for the big brakes.(Cobra, right?) I can't search because I have donated and I was going to donate, but they disabled it for the moment.

Unless you just want to post the answer.

I'm very pleased with my slotted Brembos and Axxis MetalMasters. If I did it over again I would proably just get the blank Brembos, but I got a good deal on the slotted rotors. I used the Motul 600 fluid that Stillen sells; good fluid, but kinda pricey.

I'm about to do brakes on my 328i this week and I'll be using all ATE products. You may be interested in using ATE's super blue brake fluid; its so much easier to bleed you brakes with a different color fluid.

I have purchased brake parts from GR Racing , Stillen , and Taylor Automotive . I have had great experience with all of these companies.

You need 13" Cobra rotors (ie.. 1998'), hub rings to mount them(from Candiman), two brackets from me, additional set of bolts/nuts to mount the bracket, some new SS lines, some 30mm aluminum 300zx calipers, and some 17" or larger wheels that will clear everything.
